Australia
remains an international model of multicultural success. Hass Dellal
OAM, the director of the Australian Multicultural Foundation (AMF),
will discuss the foundations work internationally and nationally.
The AMF works on various international programs in the European
Union, China and other nations. The foundation manages national
programs in community development, religious and cultural tolerance
and provides multicultural professional development.
Regardless
of recent challenges Australia is one of the most tolerant culturally
diverse nations. Phong Nguyen, the chairperson of the Ethnic Communities
Council of Victoria and director of the Springvale Indo-Chinese
Mutual Assistance, has experience on community boards, policy committees
and philanthropic foundations. Phong is a Fellow of the Williamson
Community Leadership Foundation, Young Refugees Settlement Advisory
Committee, DIMIA and a member of the Myer Foudnation's Beyond Australia
Committee. Phong will discuss the current and future challenges
facing multiculturalism and the need to develop a vision. |
